If you are like me, and browse fashion and street style blogs on a regular basis, you must have noticed an abundance of photos where fashionable subjects wear coats as capes.
That's not the first time I saw the trend. My Russian co-workers were trending it daily while running outside to take their "lung-damaging breaks". Moreover, they always looked super cool to me with their "I-don't-care-if-smoking-kills" attitude. And with their coat-capes, of course. Why not try it myself, I thought. So, here I go.
I put the cape, I mean coat, over a wonderful chunky knit sweater that I scored on sale at TJ's, vintage leather shorts, lurex tights by American Apparel and wedge sneakers (they are, apparently, going to stay on trend for some time).
I don't know if I looked cool, but I definitely was busy trying to keep the coat/cape on my shoulders.

Если вы, так же как и я, ежедневно следите за уличной модой и блогами, то наверняка заметили, что модный народ всё чаще и чаще стал появляться на фото в пальто на плечах, как накидке. Подобный тренд появился уже давно. Мои бывшие сослуживцы в России, например, выбегая покурить, всегда выглядели круто с сигаретой в руке и пальто-накидке! Поэтому, не долго думав, я решила забросить пальтишко себе на плечи.
Надела с шерстяной водолазкой с зимней распродажи, шорты, колготки American Apparel с люрексом и кроссовки на танкетке, которые, между прочим, обещают остаться в моде на ещё более неопределённый срок.
Не знаю, на сколько круто я выгдялела, но уж точно, мне было чем занять руки, стараясь удержать пальто на себе. Не удержала :-)

Bottom line: if you are a smart bad-ass wall street boss from the "Working Girl" movie, this trend is for you. Nothing, even vigorously swinging your crutches in the air, will bring this coat down. But if you just love the trend, and want to incorporate it into your life - it's best to get a real cape. Yes, I am a genius! ;-)
В итоге, если вы, конечно, супер крутая бизнес-вумэн из фильма "Деловая женщина", то вашему пальто не грозит упасть с плеч даже при интенсивном размахивании костылей в воздухе! Если же нет, но вам нравится этот тренд, я советую купить накидку. Я знаю - гениальная мысль! ;-)
