Fasten your seatbelts

Life can become really hectic sometimes - the days are flying by one after another, and it may seem that you need to wear a seat-belt to be safe, that's how fast time goes by. 

This is exactly how I felt last weekend running from one event to another, feeling really overwhelmed, and then crashing at the end of each day.

Honestly, I don't like it that much. I prefer to get busy now and then, but I also like to have time to observe life around me, think and analyze my thoughts.  To go out for walks and enjoy nature, relax and have fun.

But even during your most peaceful hours don't forget to buckle up in style ;-)

В прошлые выходные, начиная с пятницы, у меня были планы на каждый вечер и день. Помимо самих событий мне ещё приходилось тратить на поездку на машине примерно часа два каждый раз.

При всей этой беготне, время проходило настолько быстро, что я и не заметила как прошли все мои выходные.

Подобный ритм жизни не для меня. Я люблю, когда у меня есть дела, но мне больше нравится и возможность созерцать, думать, расслабляться - замечать жизнь вокруг, включая и свою. А при суете я этого, к сожалению, делать не могу.

Если вам приходится крутиться и вертеться каждый день, не забывайте пристегнуть ремни. И в путь! :-)

Кстати, в понедельник в Америке отмечают день памяти павших, и у меня получаются 4 дня выходных. Ура!

Everything old is new again

I bought this vintage Flora Kung dress on eBay this past winter. I really liked the wrap style of the bottom of the dress, and I simply ignored the dated look of the top part.

And, naturally, when I received it, it didn't fit right. I had to have it entirely altered (and it's still a work in progress).

The top part of the dress was so big that even after I ripped off the double shoulder pads, I looked like a quarter back. 

Now the only thing that's left from the original design is the bottom of the dress.

I like the vintag-y feel of this piece. The dress itself is so feminine. The fabric is silk, and it is so beautiful, the pictures do not do it justice.

Это винтажное платье я купила на eBay прошлой зимой. Мне нравятся такие юбки-тюльпаны, поэтому я его и купила.

Несмотря на то, что я уже давно покупаю винтаж по интернету, это платье мне пришлось полностью перешивать. Оно до сих пор у меня в проектах по дальнейшим изменениям. Посмотрим, к чему это приведёт.

Верх платья выглядел абсолютно по-другому, он был массивный и имел явную ссылку на преувеличенные формы 80-х годов.

В результате, оно получилось очень женственным, по-моему. Ткань и расцветка намного красивее - фотографии этого не передают, к сожалению.

Detroit Princess

So, my hair has grown a lot since I had it done two months ago. 

My appointment is scheduled for next weekend. I am certain, I will get rid of a lot of hair! I am so over the unruly mess. 

I do like a messy look, but it's just too long for me to handle. I am into something like this now. Tousled, yet stylish.

I have been through this before, and I know I'll miss my hair but change is always good. Can't wait!

За два месяца после стрижки я снова вся заросла. Пришло время коренных (или почти) изменений!

Я записалась к парикмахеру на следующую субботу. Сейчас мне нравится длинный боб, такой как этот.

Он немного взъерошенный, как я люблю, но стильный. В общем, не могу дождаться перемен!

If you google "denim on denim" your computer screen will explode with hundreds of looks.

And I think there is a reason, or should I say, reasons for that. This look serves multiple functions for me:

• Comfort - it's like wearing your PJ's, except I am not. 
• No matter how many times I've seen it - it is still stylish and cool.
• I can wear it when I feel the worst about myself or my body (on condition, that the jeans' style is relaxed).
• This outfit allows me to wear several jewelry pieces at once, plus a dressy pair of shoes, and a shiny bag.

What do you think? Do you wear denim on denim? Please, share. I am genuinely interested in your opinion.

С ног до головы джинсовый "look" до того заношен, что должен уже казаться плохим тоном.

Ан нет, он везде и всюду и, возможно, навсегда. Причин тому может быть множество. Вот, несколько моих:

• Комфорт - почти как в пижаме, но не в ней.
• Этот образ всегда считается стильным.
• Я выбираю его, когда особенно недовольна своим внешним видом или фигурой.
• Наконец, есть возможность надеть чуть ли не все украшения. Плюс туфли с брошками, плюс сверкающая сумка. И это не будет перебором.
